After leaving school I joined the Army and was in the Royal Artillery and the Airborne Brigade earning my wings and red beret. After leaving the army I trained to be an Occupational Therapist at The Ripon and York St John College in York, qualifying in 1992 and I worked for over 30 years in Leeds and North Yorkshire NHS community disability services. I have worked with the homeless in a volunteer role and carry out volunteer activities with the church I attend in York.
In October 2024 I retired and now enjoy more time with my wife, Sheila, riding out on my motorbike, doing some amateur carpentry, a bit of dancing, going on holiday and just generally enjoying life.
I believe that anything we can do to enable others to have the opportunity to have a more engaging lifestyle is really worthwhile.
